Do you check election vote status using SMS?

Hmm… i ‘ve been wondering why we have to pay RM0.50 but not standard SMS rate like RM0.15 to check vote status? Is there a profit sharing thingy happening here? There are about 5 milliontimes checking has been performed on each of the web site address above whichcome to about 10 million searches.

If over 10 million SMS are sent to check voting status and I can earn RM0.10 of each of the SMS, I’ll be earning RM1,000,000.

Wow, no wonder Mexico’s telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helu can become the second richest people in the world in 2008 and overtake Bill Gate.

How is Malaysia telecom business doing?
Well, Telekom Malaysia’s Streamyx has pretty much dominant the broadband areana in Malaysia like BN (Barisan National) as TM owned almost all the fixed line in Malaysia. Business is good for TM because they bought over their strong competitor (Mimos Jaring) in 2005 become the big boy, leaving other competitors like Celcom, Digi, Maxis, Time, izzinet, nationcom no choice but to compete in air market offering wireless internet solution such as 3G, 3.5G, 4G, wireless broadband…etc

Is Streamyx provide good services since they dominant the market?
I believe there is plenty of room to improve. Fastest speedrecorded at dslreports.com is 1.3MB download speed to lowest 18kps in Mar 2008.
http://www.dslreports.com/archive/tm.net.my?s=395&r=445
Highest speed package currently offered is 4MBps at selected area. You can see from the result, none of the tester score more than 2MBps download speed. My scored is 397kbps for download and 197kbps for a 2MB package and by the way I`m staying in Petaling Jaya, which “suppose” to get high speed connectivity as it fall within fast connection area.

Why I am talking about TMnet and streamys on Malaysia’s 12th General Election day?
Don`t you see that Streamyx has quite a lot of similarities with Barisan National? They both prety much dominat the market, they set the game rule, they claimed they have the good services but customers or citizens do not feel it. Econmical figure showed that Malaysia is doing good but Malaysian are paying more in daily expenses such as car petrol, cooking oil, toll, food…etc
Both TM and BN are hesistance to reduce price or offer better services simply because they think people cann`t make a change.

For example, if you are doing business and you need internet access, you will most likely sign up for streamyx because you have only one choice. Competitors are not able to compete simply because they have to pay rental to TM for offering internet access via TM fixed line. Not a fair game to play definately.
Same for the general election, BN will be nearly impossible to defeated by opposition because they have Money, Machinery and Media. They can easily spend over billions of ringgit Malaysian money in election. Therefore they are like TM, they take things for granted because they sure win.

Honestly, I am very “sakit hati” or painful to see how BN waste so much of money on election banners, poster…etc and they will become rubbish after election. A lot of people can benefits from these money.
Also, we are concern about global warming, is recyling issue being thought of??? We saw TV advertisement where government encourage us to recycle but i am sad to see government printed so many plastic banners and flags.

Our Pak Lah and government alway say that BN is doing good because BN have been selected for 11 times through general election by its people. This proved that Malaysians are happy with the government. What do you think?
